GATHERING, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

“Non-Personally Identifiable Information” is information that, without the aid of additional information, cannot be directly associated with a specific person. “Personally Identifiable Information”, by contrast, is information such as a name or email address that, without more, can be directly associated with a specific person.

Like most website operators, the Company gathers from users of the Website Non-Personally Identifiable Information of the sort that Web browsers, depending on their settings, may make available. That information includes the user’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, browser type, language and the locations of the websites the user views right before arriving at, while navigating and immediately after leaving the Website. Although such information is not Personally Identifiable Information, it may be possible for the Company to determine from an IP address a user’s Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of the visitor’s point of connectivity as well as other statistical usage data. The Company analyses Non-Personally Identifiable Information gathered from users of the Website to help the Company better understand how the Website is being used. By identifying patterns and trends in usage, the Company is able to better design the Website to improve users’ experiences, both in terms of content and ease of use. From time to time, the Company may also release the Non-Personally Identifiable Information gathered from the Website users in the aggregate, such as by publishing a report on trends in the usage of the Website.

Web Cookies

A “web cookie” (or “cookie”) is a string of information which assigns you a unique identification that a website stores on a user’s computer, and that the user’s browser provides to the website each time the user submits a query to the website. We may use cookies on the Website to keep track of the Website services you have used, to record registration information (refers to the user information submitted while registering, login, on the Website forms, subscription list, blog comment page, chats and any other areas of the Website), to record your user preferences, and to keep you logged into the Website. The Company also uses cookies to track the pages that users visit during each Website session, both to help the Company improve users’ experiences and to help Company understand how the Website is being used. As with other Non-Personally Identifiable Information gathered from users of the Website, the Company analyses and discloses in aggregated form information gathered using web cookies, so as to help the Company, its partners and others better understand how the Website is being used.

WEBSITE USERS WHO DO NOT WISH TO HAVE WEB COOKIES PLACED ON THEIR COMPUTERS SHOULD SET THEIR BROWSERS TO REFUSE WEB COOKIES BEFORE ACCESSING THE WEBSITE, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT CERTAIN FEATURES OF THE WEBSITE MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY WITHOUT THE AID OF WEB COOKIES. WEBSITE USERS WHO REFUSE WEB COOKIES ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RESULTING LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY.

Types of Cookies

The following types of cookies may be used when you visit the Website:

  • Session cookies: Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain as long as a browsing session is active. They do not have an expiry date and hence are lost or expired when the browsing session is closed. Without this cookie, a website will consider you as a new user each time you move from one webpage to another. Hence, these cookies enable the users to navigate from one webpage to another on a website swiftly during a browsing session.
  • Persistent cookies: Persistent cookies remain on your browser’s folders even after termination of your browsing session. These cookies enable a website to remember your preferences on subsequent visits, such as retaining the visitor’s language and regional preferences. These cookies contain an expiry date, which means they will be removed from the disk on the expiry date.
  • Third-Party cookies: We may also partner with selected third-party vendors to allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on the Website through the use of first-party cookies and third-party cookies. The purpose is to, among other things, analyze and track users’ use of the Website, determine the popularity of certain content, better understand online activity, provide us with insights about our Website, help us run targeting advertising campaigns, measure effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to make the advertisements more relevant to you. These companies use cookies to collect information about your browsing activities on our Website, such as the pages you visit, the links you click, assets you download and how long you are on our Website, etc. Based on your browsing of our Website, you may see our advertisements while browsing through our advertisement partner websites and / or their network websites. These advertising cookies are linked to a computer and do not gather any personal information about you. Analytics cookies monitor how users reached the Website, and how they interact with and move around once on the Website. Additionally, we may use third-party software to serve ads on the Website, implement email marketing campaigns, and manage other interactive marketing initiatives. This third-party software may use cookies or similar tracking technology to help manage and optimize your online experience with us. We do not transfer personal information to these third-party vendors. By accessing the Website, you consent to the collection and use of your information by these third-party vendors. You are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions. In order to opt out from receiving such advertisements, you have to set your preferences on those partner websites.

Control of Cookies

Many browsers are set to accept cookies by default. However, you can remove or reject cookies in your browser’s settings. Please be aware that such action could affect the availability and functionality of the Website. For more information on how to control cookies, check your browser or device’s settings for how you can control or reject cookies.

Web Beacons, Pixel Tags

In addition to cookies, we may use web beacons, pixel tags, and other tracking technologies on the Website to help customize the Website and improve your experience. A web beacon or a pixel tag is a tiny object or image that is embedded in a web page or email, and is usually invisible to the user. It allows website operators to check whether a user has viewed a particular web page or an email. The Company may use web beacons or pixel tags on the Website and in emails to count users who have visited particular pages, viewed emails and to deliver co-branded services. Web beacons are not used to access users’ Personally Identifiable Information. They are a technique Company may use to compile aggregated statistics about the Website usage. Web beacons collect only a limited set of information, including a web cookie number, time and date of a page or email view and a description of the page or email on which the web beacon resides. You may not decline web beacons. However, they can be rendered ineffective by declining all web cookies or modifying your browser setting to notify you each time a web cookie is tendered, permitting you to accept or decline web cookies on an individual basis.
